Rusty Eck FordRusty Eck Ford is a leader and innovator in state-of-the-art facilities for the auto sales industry. The dealership understands the importance of leaving a great impression on customers, and has worked hard to create a unique and pleasant car buying experience for their customers. The recently remodeled dealership in Wichita Kansas even features a movie theater in their customer lounge, complete with a popcorn machine!

After investing heavily in the show room, the next phase was to improve the look of the existing service shop. The shop floor had an older thin-film epoxy on it, showing typical wear for a high traffic automotive shop. The slab had cracks and gouges, and damaged areas caused by the dropping of heavy equipment or tools. Petra Coatings was called upon to evaluate the situation and offer a solution. After visiting the facility, the team at Petra offered a solution using Petra’s Industrial Broadcast System. The Rusty Eck Ford Industrial Broadcast Flooring22,000 square foot service shop was to be prepped and coated in two phases over a two week period. Mid-week, at night, Petra’s installation crew prepared the floor with diamond grinders and shot blast machines. Over the first weekend, one half of the shop was coated, and by the end of the the second weekend, the entire shop floor was complete.

Petra Coatings Inc. understands the importance of completing the job correctly, in a timely manner. The cost of shutting down a service shop of this size can sometimes be more costly than the cost of the new floor system being installed. By completing the job in two phases, the Petra was able to keep the service shop operational the entire time. The finished product was a clean, high gloss floor, with medium non-skid texture for slip resistance. The new floor not only made the shop look clean and presentable to customers, but it improved the effectiveness of the existing lighting system, and made cleaning easier for the facilities crew.
